Call it fear, call it doubt, it is basically the same thing. It strikes at the heart of every Internet marketer at one time or another; and even though the so-called gurus look savvy and confident, they still experience it from time to time.

Can I make it? Will I make it? Am I good enough? These are the questions that all Internet marketers have to deal with, and it is working with these questions and not giving up that separates the winners from the losers.

You see, anybody can make it with Internet marketing. Anybody. It is not a matter of being smarter than others or richer than others, as much as it is the willingness to persevere no matter what.

Putting the Doubt Aside

There is a time and a place for doubt, but not when you are working. When you are sitting down to do the tasks at hand, you must take your doubt and put it aside. It is not something that will help you get your work done; it is only a hindrance to real production.

If you find that it is hard to get this doubt out of your mind, you need to walk away from your computer and figure out a way to place it somewhere else. You may have to resort to some techniques to get it done, but don't let this stop you.

You will get much more done in a smaller amount of time if you take the time to dump these harmful and malicious feelings. How can you really get anything positive accomplished when you are weighted down with negative destructive thoughts? You won’t be able to, that’s all.

How to Put Negative Thoughts Aside

Some people use visualization techniques to fill their mind with positive thoughts, which pushes all of the negative thoughts aside. This technique works well for many that have a hard time dealing with doubt and fear.

As you sit down at your computer to start writing, work on a website or contact a certain business partner, take a moment to visualize what you are going to be doing and how you will get it done. Concentrate on this until you have a clear mental picture of what will be done, and how good it will feel when it has been completed.

Another thing you can do is get some positive energy flowing by listening to some upbeat music, petting your dog and talking to him, or whatever it takes to uplift your mood and make you feel energized. Everyone has their own way of creating positive energy for themselves, and only you know what it takes to make you happy and motivated.

Confronting the Doubt and Fear

A lot of people try to confront the fear head on, but this method usually does not work very well. Both fear and doubt are very negative energy; and the more attention and power you give to them, the stronger they can become. Don’t feed them, make them starve.

It can take a lot of time and energy to face these emotions, and in a lot of cases you may not even know where they are coming from. It is a fact of life that just ignoring them and concentrating on the positive will get you much further ahead, and in much less time. When you are filled with positive feelings, there remains no extra room for the negative.

You may find after 20 years of psychotherapy that it was Aunt Mary that told you, when you were three or four years old, that computers are stupid and that you should grow up to be a doctor. Maybe it has some influence on you now. None of that really matters. None of it.

Developing Confidence and Certainty

You will be able to develop true confidence and certainty by just putting your fear and doubt aside, and by working on your Internet marketing business. It is a very simple concept that many do not understand, and these people fall into the hole of doubt and can never get out.

If you simply do what you need to do on your business with regular consistency, you will begin to see results. It always works that way and never changes.

You may need to change things from time to time, test things, see things fail and then rise to the challenge of persevering and trying something else. When you understand that this is truly your job, then you will make it to the other side and become successful.

It is not your doubt or your fear that is stopping you; it is only you that is stopping you. You are the one that allows the fear to take control. You are the one that has the ability to stop it from taking control, by just doing your work and pushing it completely aside.

To Your Success!

Those who are considering becoming entrepreneurs often have an idealized vision of what it means to be in business for one's self. They may be tired of working to make money for someone else, bring home only a small portion of the profits they generate.

They see entrepreneurism as a way out of that trap. By working for themselves, they can eliminate the middleman and keep all the money they make for themselves. And besides that, they can enjoy a greater degree of freedom.

And so they leave their jobs to start a business of their own. Of course they must realize that it will be more difficult than following orders from someone else, but no pain, no gain, right?

And then reality sets in. Running a one-man show is hard work. You do all of the profit-generating work. You function as a bookkeeper, maintaining records of income and expenses and sending out invoices. You design your own website and do your own marketing. The list goes on and on.

If you start making money right away, you might feel that it's all worthwhile. Still, it's a bit of a shock when you see all that's involved in running a business, and you will eventually suffer from burnout. And if you don't see profits right off the bat, you just might feel like giving up. If there's no money coming in, and the freedom you so desired isn't materializing, what's the point?

New entrepreneurs aren't the only ones who fall victim to this mentality. Those who have been at it for years can also find themselves trying to do it all. If they're lucky enough to have stayed in business and not experience burnout, they could even be doing well.

But by neglecting to outsource some of the activities that do not make them money, they leave themselves less time to concentrate on generating profits and deny themselves opportunities to grow their businesses.

You – Yes, You – Need to Outsource

“No man is an Island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the Continent, a part of the main...”

John Donne

Outsourcing has numerous benefits. It eliminates the need to do work that you may not possess the skills to perform as well as someone who has specialized training. It allows you to concentrate on the aspects of your business that you enjoy rather than the ones you find irritating or monotonous. And perhaps most importantly, it makes it possible for you to make more money.

So why do so many small business owners insist on doing everything themselves? There are a few possible reasons:

They don't want to relinquish any control. Their businesses are their own creations, their “babies.” They feel that they must carefully manage every aspect, and the only way they can accomplish that to their satisfaction is to do everything themselves.

They have trouble trusting anyone else to handle their business affairs. They worry that they will make mistakes or be dishonest. Since they know they can trust themselves, they take everything into their own hands.

They think they can't afford it. When dealing with a small budget, it's easy to believe that there's no room for hiring out some of the work. So the business owner takes on roles that he might not be comfortable with in an effort to preserve profits.

They might believe that outsourcing is only for large corporations. The thought of hiring contractors or firms to do some of their work may have never crossed their minds.

They don't mind multitasking. Some people truly excel at it, and that is a great asset to any entrepreneur. (But there are times when multitasking isn't the most efficient way to get things done.)

Do any of these reasons sound familiar? If so, maybe it's time to let go of your apprehensions and misconceptions and give outsourcing a try.

A lack of trust and a need for control are two things that can be difficult to overcome. But if you want to get the most out of your business, overcome them you must. If you hire honest and competent people, you'll have little to worry about. Screen candidates thoroughly and check references, and in the overwhelming majority of cases, you'll find that they work out just fine.

At first glance, outsourcing might not seem to make sense for fledgling businesses. And in the very beginning, there really might not be room in the budget to hire contractors. But once you have some profits rolling in, outsourcing can increase them greatly.

By hiring someone to do your marketing, for instance, you can keep new clients coming in and have more time to do the work they give you. As long as you're making more money from the marketing efforts than you're paying for them, all is well.

If you just don't think you need to outsource, consider this. Let's say you make $100 per billable hour. If you're doing all of your bookkeeping, marketing, order taking, customer service and so on, that means that you might not have time to do more than 4 hours worth of billable work in each 8 hour work day. Working 5 days a week, you would bring in $8,000 a month.

But what if you were to outsource all of that other stuff? If you could pay contractors to do it, even if you had to pay them all $50 an hour (and chances are, you won't), you would still come out ahead. You could get in 8 billable hours each day, doubling your income to $16,000 per month. By the time you paid your help, you would still get to keep a total of $12,000 for working the same number of hours as you were to make $8,000.

Outsourcing can be a hard concept for some entrepreneurs to swallow. But just because you're in business for yourself, that doesn't mean you have to do it all by yourself. Hiring out some of your non-profit generating activities will allow you to enjoy your business more, and it will greatly increase your profit potential.

Those who are considering becoming entrepreneurs often have an idealized vision of what it means to be in business for one’s self.

If you start making money right away, you might feel that it’s all worthwhile. Still, it’s a bit of a shock when you see all that’s involved in running a business, and you will eventually suffer from burnout. And if you don’t see profits right off the bat, you just might feel like giving up. If there’s no money coming in, and the freedom you so desired isn’t materializing, what’s the point?

New entrepreneurs aren’t the only ones who fall victim to this mentality. Those who have been at it for years can also find themselves trying to do it all. If they’re lucky enough to have stayed in business and not experience burnout, they could even be doing well.

But by neglecting to outsource some of the activities that do not make them money, they leave themselves less time to concentrate on generating profits and deny themselves opportunities to grow their businesses.

You – Yes, You – Need to Outsource

“No man is an Island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the Continent, a part of the main…”

They don’t want to relinquish any control.

They think they can’t afford it. When dealing with a small budget, it’s easy to believe that there’s no room for hiring out some of the work. So the business owner takes on roles that he might not be comfortable with in an effort to preserve profits.

They might believe that outsourcing is only for large corporations. The thought of hiring contractors or firms to do some of their work may have never crossed their minds.

They don’t mind multitasking. Some people truly excel at it, and that is a great asset to any entrepreneur. (But there are times when multitasking isn’t the most efficient way to get things done.)

Do any of these reasons sound familiar? If so, maybe it’s time to let go of your apprehensions and misconceptions and give outsourcing a try.

A lack of trust and a need for control are two things that can be difficult to overcome. But if you want to get the most out of your business, overcome them you must. If you hire honest and competent people, you’ll have little to worry about. Screen candidates thoroughly and check references, and in the overwhelming majority of cases, you’ll find that they work out just fine.

As long as you’re making more money from the marketing efforts than you’re paying for them, all is well.

If you just don’t think you need to outsource, consider this. Let’s say you make $100 per billable hour. If you’re doing all of your bookkeeping, marketing, order taking, customer service and so on, that means that you might not have time to do more than 4 hours worth of billable work in each 8 hour work day. Working 5 days a week, you would bring in $8,000 a month.

But what if you were to outsource all of that other stuff? By the time you paid your help, you would still get to keep a total of $12,000 for working the same number of hours as you were to make $8,000.

Proper mindset is essential for every online business owner. It will be the definitive characteristic that can either make or break the business, as it faces the constant bombardment of recent issues and competition.

As every internet business must have goals and objectives, it is only appropriate that owners learn to accept trials and failures along the way. There will be challenges and obstacles associated with successfully running a business, but a solution-driven mindset will learn how to adapt and overcome every marketing turmoil.

There are no excuses and waiting in the business world and competition will surely grab every opportunity to control the market, which is why there is no reason to doubt or complain about the ruthlessness of it all. There are far more benefits in trying to solve problems and overcoming obstacles, compared with waiting for others to create something great, or avoiding problems altogether.

What is mindset?

Mindset or state or frame of mind is a trait that should be fostered by every effective online business owner who wants to excel and succeed. The online market can even be faster than real world demands and transactions with state-of-the-art business ideas and innovative product or service selling.

Proper mindset is the characteristic that guides the business owner to maintain ideals, make the right decisions and adapt to stress while generating income in order to attain objectives and goals for the business to survive.

Goals of a proper mindset

The aim of having proper mindset is to establish goals for the online business to continue selling, stay ahead of competition and generate income. Here are some of its specific goals.

1. Avoid – Proper mindset aims to produce, sell and earn, which is why it does everything to avoid predicaments that can hamper the company’s growth. A responsible business owner will not engage in any scrupulous activity that may put his integrity and market at risk. Even though there are always risks involved in investing, there is greater good in avoiding obvious hazards.

2. Alleviate – When there is an already existing problem, the business owner should aim to lessen any impact that it can cause to the business through identification of mitigating factors. These will help reduce costs as well as save the reputation of the business. It can also be time-consuming or can stay unresolved for a number of years which may adversely affect operations.

3. Fix – Whether the existing problem has been lessened or not, it may already have caused considerable damage that may spread and grow if unresolved. It is the company’s responsibility to immediately fix or find solutions to past and present problems to maintain integrity and production.

4. Learn – Based on previous and existing problems, proper mindset also enables individuals to learn and adapt from mistakes to avoid being involved in the same adverse circumstance again. It is important that the lesson and value is incorporated in every partner and person involved so that the same failure or damage will not stem from the same source again.

5. Grow – Even if the online business is already generating sales and income, there is a certain degree of need for growth that comes with the proper mindset. It is not merely contented with profit or reputation but aims to continually develop to fend off competition, as well as prepare for future situations. Future problems can also be predicted and avoided if there is research and development provided for the company’s continuous progress.

6. Change – There should be room for adjustment to cope with the ever-changing market. There are hot-selling products or services at present that can easily crash the next minute, which is why the mindset trains the business owner to learn how to immediately alter operations and strategies as needed to effectively cater to the population.

Traits that fit the proper mindset

Once the proper mindset is prepared, the business owner must also possess attitudes that best compliment the goal to succeed and produce. Here are traits that work best with the proper mindset.

1. Learning – The yearning for newfound knowledge must constantly be present in order for the company to grow, adapt and cope with recent changes and emergency.

Even if the online business as well as the strategies for internet marketing are working effectively in the meantime, the owner should anticipate that, sooner or later, new demands and competition will again cause him to change ways and ideas. This is where research and development comes in to provide room for innovation, creativity, and originality.

2. Intervention – Once knowledge is acquired, the company must begin incorporating it to update and improve its existing principles. Potential problems should immediately be addressed while existing ones are being resolved. Do not wait until problems accumulate or there might be long-term damages or overloading if an emergency occurs.

3. Evaluation – Evaluating the effects of the knowledge and actions is helpful in order to set new goals and redefine the mindset. Clearly define the details that affected the business positively and negatively and find ways to innovate and identify solutions respectively.

An effective business owner with the proper mindset accepts the fact that there is no perfect solution or manner of running the business which is why evaluation and assessment is indispensable.

All business owners aim to succeed, which is why they all have to establish the mindset that focuses on identifying problems, solving them, and generating sales and income. Internet marketing is fast-changing and innovative; by having the proper mindset, you can effectively cope with the demands and stress that may be associated with running a business.

Do you put off your work for later, only to find your deadlines steadily creeping in? Then you, my friend, are one of the millions of people afflicted by the procrastination virus. Procrastination is the biggest reason for loss of productivity and late output. Though many would not admit it, they would benefit greatly if they start their work on time.

For many people, putting off their work for later is more habit than desire. It can be so hard to get into a groove where starting your tasks in a timely fashion is a priority, especially if the consequences for being late are things that one can probably bear.

If you are one of these people, yet you desire to shake off your propensity for procrastination, then you have come to the right place. Here are a few tips to help you overcome this dilemma and become a more productive and reliable person.

1. Set schedules – It is very important that you have a list of activities to accomplish per day. This will help you realistically budget your time and resources. One of the cardinal sins people commit in regards to performing their tasks is to put off their work because they feel like there is so much time left. A journal, organizer, or calendar of events will help you plan and schedule your task so that you can start them promptly and finish them on time.

2. Save the Vacation for Later – Many people put their work off for later saying, “I'll just have a little fun then buckle down to work later.” While it may be true that they may have more than enough time to accomplish their tasks, it would be better if they finished their work first and relax afterwards.

Wouldn't relaxation be sweeter if it were after a taxing job? If you choose to lay back and relax before doing your tasks, you will be more prone to burnout and will have nothing exciting left to look forward to after accomplishing a task. It is always better to have slack period AFTER a job than before one, especially considering that people are wont to overusing their slack time. This is suicide if you are heading towards a deadline.

3. Never Underestimate Your Tasks – Sometimes procrastination sets in because people underestimate the resources, difficulty, and time spent for a particular task. They will usually say, “It's just mowing the lawn, its easy; I could do it in a jiffy.” The problem is, no matter how trivial the task, it still takes time and resources to accomplish. If you underestimate a task, you will most likely set too little time to do it and schedule it too close to its deadline.

4. Don't Allow Yourself to Get Comfortable Doing Nothing – It would definitely help if you kept a subconscious alarm whenever you are doing nothing. Get this alarm to remind you of things that may need to be done. This will help you foster the notion that jobs accomplished now means more time for relaxation later. However, even if this is the case, do not forget to put ample time in for rest and to remove all thoughts of troubles before hitting the sack. The trick here, however, is not to overdo you rest. There is a difference between resting and idling. Always set the right amount of time for rest and stick to that schedule.

A lot of blue chip companies, as well as budding corporations, make use of outsourcing to take advantage of several aspects. Outsourcing provides companies the chance to save more capital by seeking manpower from other sources.

A number of agencies have already downsized because of the looming financial crisis. Crowley, a huge company, has downsized thousands of workers and has chosen to outsource instead.

Many companies in the United States prefer to outsource because of the capitalist structure of the economy. Small businesses are also gradually following huge scale companies to have a more efficient system at a reduced cost than what they would normally pay average workers.

A good example is Mike Filsaime, a marketer who formerly functioned as general manager of Toyota in New York City. He has now more than 20 employees working full time for him over the internet.

What is Outsourcing?

Outsourcing is the process of transferring management and daily execution of functions to an external service provider. The service provider and company will enter an agreement sealed by a contract. Means of production will be provided by the client company in the form of manpower, resources and assets.

Some of the usual aspects or functions outsourced by huge and small-scale companies include information technology or IT, accounting, customer support, and human resources. Other functions that are usually outsourced include telemarketing, web development, ghostwriting and CAD drafting.

Outsourcing may also be referred to as offshoring. Multi-sourcing describes big outsourcing contracts, usually covering the IT division. The process allows various parts of a client business to be sourced using various service providers.

Strategic outsourcing is the organizing arrangement that arises when companies depend on intermediate markets to offer special functions.

Should You Outsource?

Any company has the choice of outsourcing a particular function or doing it using the available resources and manpower in-house. Deciding to outsource is done at a strategic level, usually needing approval from the board.

Outsourcing leads to supply chain function being done using a third party. The process starts with the firm selecting the particular activity to be outsourced and giving justification to the choice. If it is established and approved, the search will begin for the best outsourcing partner.

The Pros and Strengths of Outsourcing

Communication has been enhanced significantly by the internet, so bosses can easily make commands and other changes, simply by using tools and methods available online.

Meetings can be held using online conferences. There are also other gadgets and technologies available at present that can help bosses and managers get in touch with different workers belonging to particular sections, regardless of time and location.

Leverage is one of the most advantageous aspects of outsourcing. Business owners get to save more money, save more time, as well as conserve effort in directing sales and other transactions in the business.

Since the owners can acquire individuals living on the other end of the world, they can adjust the salary according to the standards of the given area. They can easily seek willing workers who are also quite comfortable with their pays, thus leading to more efficient and happy employees.

Delegation is very important in running a multi-faceted company. Owners may divide the company into sections and categories, assigning different online workers for each and oversee the entire operation to prevent common pitfalls. They have the opportunity to brainstorm the pros and cons of outsourcing and develop effective ways to let the business grow.

Delegating allows business owners to acquire people with specific talents. This is highly important if your company involves several functions and offers a variety of products and services. In some cases, company owners may need to pay very skilled and talented workers more. It is important that you pay well, according to the specific strengths of the individual to garner optimum results.

Knowing the Cons and Risks of Outsourcing

The current global financial crisis has put several jobs at stake, especially in first world countries like the United States and United Kingdom. Most huge and small scale companies have recently been preferring talents coming from smaller nations who do not require very high pay checks.

At times, people from remote sources may even offer better skills and experience than those who have been working full time with the company. The present recession in the United States has slashed hundreds of thousands of jobs, leaving most employees homeless.

Outsourcing has the disadvantage of not allowing bosses to fully monitor the activities of employees, primarily due to location. They are limiting their scope of observation based on the own efforts of managers assigned in the same remote region.

Assessment of potential workers are limited as well, as bosses can only conduct online interviews or provide short tests to determine or guess the efficiency of workers.

Preventing Pitfalls

Dishonesty can occur, since the system of management is not entirely hands-on. Business is conducted over thousands of miles, wherein a single dishonest manager can manipulate how other workers or a certain division is run.

Business owners need to be more careful about the sales and financial status of the company to prevent losses. In some cases, losses may be unavoidable. Although you get to save costs in labor and manpower, more expenses may be needed for checks and maintenance.

Every company needs to consider the pros and cons of outsourcing first before deciding on a particular function. The choice may lead to better results and lower expenses if done correctly, or poorer outcomes at higher rates.

To Your Success!
